At the recent Pack Expo Show, we introduced the latest industrial touch screen printer controller from our friends at FoxJet – the Marksman Matrix.
The new Matrix controller is based around a dual-core Intel Atom processor with a 10 inch color touch screen interface. The system uses the well-proven Windows Embedded operating system. All is packaged in a rugged stainless steel enclosure.
The new color interface is uncluttered and features large easy to find icons for all the main functions. The pop-up keyboard also features large keys for easy data entry.
The Matrix controller includes FoxJet’s built in WYSIWYG editor for designing and editing print formats and is capable of printing truetype fonts as well as graphics (monochrome bitmap files) and most barcode types. The 3D product views that are included are very useful when designing formats for both sides of the case.
For connectivity, the Matrix includes 3 USB ports and 2 Serial and comes with a 64 GB solid state drive for data storage. One Matrix controller can handle up to 4 printheads (768 or 384 models), split between up to 2 production lines.
I had the opportunity to get a little hands-on time with the new controller and I found it to be very nicely thought out and easy to use. I can see this being very popular with users of FoxJet equipment. You can download the datasheet on the new Marksman Matrix controller here.
