Karl has been with the EPI team for 15 years as an engineer. Obviously, his responsibilities can vary day to day but as an engineer, Karl will take a customer order and manage the project from start to finish. This includes communication with sales, mechanical and electrical design, documentation, and sometimes commissioning of the final product. He also undertakes the programming of the entire line of equipment sold at EPI, including legacy and new development projects.
It is no surprise, problem-solving is a big part of Karl’s day to day. Being intertwined in every aspect of EPI’s labeling products over the last 15 years has provided him with a wealth of knowledge. This knowledge allows him to help other engineers with their designs and customer questions, as well as, provide answers to the sales team, the machinists, and the assembly team when questions arise about EPI labelers.
When asked, “What do you enjoy about the work you do?” Karl’s response was simple. He enjoys creating a solution for the customer that is easy to operate and maintain. He likes the daily challenges, and problem-solving. He also shared that working with the people in his building has always been a pleasant experience.
Outside of developing new labeling solutions and problem-solving, Karl enjoys spending time with his family and playing with his two boys, who are one and a half and four years old.
Golfing, snowboarding, vacationing at the beach, and driving his antique plated Acura Integra are also other activities Karl likes spending time doing.
