Our Genesis digital printer has always added a lot of flexibility for medical device companies wanting to enhance their in-line printing capabilities.
From single-color printers for adding variable information, such as date/lot codes, compliance icons, and UDI barcodes to packages, to full-color printers able to print the complete package.
The recently completed printer shown in this video is perhaps the most versatile so far.
With full CMYK printing capability, this Genesis is able to print the complete package, allowing the customer to order unprinted materials rather than having to manage multiple SKUs of pre-printed materials. It is ideal for enabling a completely digital print environment, from format design all the way to finished package.
What makes this particular system so versatile is that it is built with four sets of CMYK printheads, 16 printheads in all.
Since the printer prints across the web while the material is stationary, this Genesis can handle machine index lengths of 80 – 260mm, depending on the tooling set used – all with just one traverse of the printheads.
As well as the ultimate in flexibility, this concept allows for maximum output and really quick changeovers – all helping to improve the efficiency of the packaging line.
Genesis systems use fast curing UV inks and can interface with your manufacturing or serialization software to ensure the correct data is printed every time!
