If you work in packaging for a meat or poultry company, you almost certainly have to print variable information onto every pack you produce.
To be honest, this kind of product coding can be rather frustrating. This is especially so when a small item such as a date coding printer can cause so much maintenance and downtime in your process.
Here at ProMach Labeling & Coding, we specialize in online coding systems specifically designed to handle the tough environments often found in your industry – keeping your lines running and efficiency up.
We supply several technologies from our ID Technology, Greydon and Code Tech brands, allowing our customers to choose the best one for any particular application. You’ll be able to see our solutions at the IPPE Show.
Thermal Inkjet Printers (TIJ)
While thermal inkjet technology has been well established for many years, it’s only relatively recently that inks were developed that were capable of printing on the kind of materials used in the protein industry.
Thermal inkjet has since then made serious inroads into this market.
With our brands ID Technology and Code Tech, ProMach offers a number of thermal inkjet coding solutions that can handle the tough environments found in meat and poultry production plants.
These thermal inkjet printers, produce excellent print quality and need very little maintenance compared to legacy printers.
Modern inks, allow for printing on most packaging materials.
Need to change the print color? Simple, just swap to a new color cartridge.
Combine these printers with Greydon mounting systems and environmental enclosures and they are often a winning combination for protein plants.
TTO Overprinters
TTO printers supplied by Greydon and ID Technology are capable of printing the complete package on a horizontal or vertical form-fill-seal machine.
In many cases, this can eliminate the need to have to purchase rolls of preprinted film.
TTO printers can print nutrition information allergen information as well as the usual date lot and establishment codes.
As with our thermal inkjet printers are TTL over printers are usually supplied mounted inside Greydon environmental enclosures to protect them from the harsh environment of a meatpacking plant.
Continuous Inkjet Printers (CIJ)
CIJ printing has been the most common form of date coding system for some years now.
Capable of running at high speeds, low cost per print, and can provide good print quality.
Our Citronix CIJ printer is well known for being one of the simplest to use and maintain in the industry, making it an ideal solution for many date coding applications in the protein industry.
Unlike some other CIJ printers, Citronix systems have no expensive core units to replace and you don’t need to sign up for an expensive service plan.
Want to learn more about how ProMach Labeling & Coding can help improve your product coding? We will be exhibiting these modern, digital coding systems during IPPE at Booth BC10213. You’ll be able to check out our packaging film coding demo that shows multiple technologies operating together so you can judge which meets your needs.
If you are attending the show we would obviously love to see you, however, should you not be going simply contact by DM here at LinkedIn or send email to IDT@ProMachBuilt.com and we and we will be very happy to help you.
