New Washdown Labeling System – IDT Model 455

We’ve been making printer applicators for harsh environments for a long time and the 455 takes the concept to a new level. The machine incorporates a pneumatically operated stainless steel hood, that is kept raised while the system is in use.

After the day’s production is complete and it is washdown time, a quick flick of a lever causes the hood to lower and cover the top of the baseplate. One the latches in the corners are set, the 455 is completely sealed and can be cleaned with no concerns about anything getting wet or damaged.

We recently displayed the Model 455 at the PackExpo show which is where I took these photos. The machine is equipped with IDT’s high speed asynchronous vacuum belt applicator that that can increase by 30 or 40%, compared to conventional tamp applicators. Also included is a corner wrap wipedown station; this allows the 455 to be used to apply a label to either one side or to wrap the label around adjacent sides of the box.

The Model 455 is built on IDT’s latest 252 platform and incorporates well proven modules shared with other products in the range.

Everything is mounted on a sealed stainless steel base cabinet that has slide-out mountings to give easy access to the electronics and pneumatic controls.
