The M-Class printer from Datamax is one of my favorite label printers – a great combination of quality, features, physical size and price.
The area I’ve complained about is the printhead pivoting method. Being cantilevered it can make it difficult to thread the ribbon (some of the Zebra models have this same problem as well) and I always wanted the M-Class to have a similar printhead mount to the larger I-Class model.
Some time ago however, Bruce McDowell at Datamax-O’Neil took the time to show me how he loaded the ribbon – I had to admit it works! I was so impressed I planned to make a video showing how to easily load the labels and ribbon to the M-Class. As it turned out, I didn’t have to – the nice Datamax folks already had done it.
So if you own an M-Class or are thinking of getting one, here is the best way to load the media.
