If your machine shop does business with the DoD, you might have noticed that your new contracts are asking you to apply labels to the new MIL-STD-129P Change4 specification which includes RFID.
Every day we are getting calls from people who are suddenly confronted with this and need to find a solution fast!
The 3 Steps to Compliance approach that we have developed is perfect for contractors just getting going with this kind of labeling. Step 1 involves us providing you with Unit, Exterior or MSL labels that meet the new requirements. These can be RFID or not – depending on what is needed for your contract. This is the easiest and most cost effective way to get going.
If you’d rather print your compliance labels in-house, Step 2 covers the supply of the equipment, software and support you’d need to be able to do this.

Note that if you are using RFID labels, you will have to use the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) to submit the information to DoD. Your local DCMA people can provide you with information and training on this.
