AIM Global, recently announced the Public Review Draft of Information Technology — Automatic Identification And Data Capture Techniques — TEI data compaction guideline.
While this might not sound to be the most exciting reading ever, it is part of a plan to reduce the number of symbols that need to be encoded in the TEI (Format 12) UID codes. This could result in smaller Datamatrix codes on some products.
The public review period ends on April 14th, so get moving if you are interested. You can read more and download the full document (unfortunately for a fee if you are not an AIM member) here.
